Posted: Friday, March 13th, 2015 | By Kass Hall

Yuma, Arizona, March 6, 2015 – See the wonder in your children’s eyes as they experience the exciting adventures of Hansel and Gretel! Scheduled for Saturday, March 28th, Ballet Yuma presents this all-new ballet to Yuma audiences both young and old. Hungry and lost in the forest, Hansel & Gretel stumble upon a house made of delicious confections and find themselves welcomed by a witch whose keen interest in them has sinister motives. Filled with bluebirds, angels and gingerbread men, Ballet Yuma’s adaptation of the Brothers Grimm tale is the perfect adventure for the entire family!

Hansel & Gretel was created and choreographed by Kathleen Sinclair, with additional choreography by Emma M.K. Cong and Jon Cristofori. Sets were created by Shawna Perkins, and the light design is by Bill Kickbush.

As an added bonus, you will get a sneak preview of the innovative new works choreographed for the company to perform when they represent Yuma as the only Arizona company at Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival in Sacramento, California May 10-13, 2015. Yuma Ballet Academy students enjoying roles right alongside our Ballet Yuma company dancers. As always in the spring, we will be presenting innovative new works that distinguished choreographers have set on our dancers for them to perform at our Regional Festival in May.
